Gymnastics Wins 2025 DI State Title

For the first time in program history, the Bishop Guertin gymnastics team claimed the New Hampshire State Championship on Saturday, February 15. The Cardinals posted the highest team score (147.9) in NH history en route to the 2025 Division I title at A2 Gymnastics in Salem.

Despite the massive point total, it was still a close win for the Cardinals who edged out perennial power Pinkerton by merely a single point, 147.9-146.9. For head coach Chelsie Burland, it was a bittersweet result as she had previously coached Pinkerton to eight state titles in 10 seasons as Astros coach before coming to Lund Road four years ago.

One of those freshmen who Burland inherited four seasons ago is now the best gymnast in the state. Leading the way on Saturday was senior Caroline Butler who was the All-Around State Champion as well as the winner of the vault and bars. Her 9.7 tied the state record for the vault, while she set a new Granite State mark on the mars with a 9.825. She edged out two-time all-around state champ Mia LeBlanc of Merrimack for the top individual position.

Fellow senior Natalie Haight also had a strong day, finishing fifth in the all-around competition, while was fourth on bars (9.45), sixth on beam (9.275) and fifth on floor (9.425). Senior Amanda Turcotte (9.35) was fifth on bars.

After two top-two finishes (2022, ’23) and a third-place finish last year, this senior class was ready to leave BG and their mark on the program in 2025.

What an unbelievable accomplishment for the 2024-25 team. Congratulations on the win and making history at Bishop Guertin!
